Hostel
General rules
  • All matters related to discipline and conduct of the Girls’ Hostel of Chandernagore College will be governed by the rules and regulations as specified by the College Authority from time to time.
  • The Principal of the College is the ex-officio In-charge of the College Hostel. The Hostel Superintendent / Committee will be in overall charge of the Hostel. Any kind of dispute arising in the Hostel will be informed by the Hostel Prefect of the Hostel Committee.
  • All boarders should strictly adhere to the rules of the College and Hostel.
  • Boarders should maintain due decorum in the Hostel and they must attend their College classes regularly.
  • The use of intoxicants in any form or manner is strictly prohibited in the Hostel premises as well as in the College Campus and violation of this rule will invite an immediate suspension/expulsion from the Hostel.
  • Ragging in any form is completely prohibited in the College and within the hostel.
  • Any violation of the above rules is meted out with outright cancellation of boarding of the student with a three days’ prior notice.
Payment rules
  • Boarders must pay their Hostel Fee in advance in the first week of the current month.
  • Their names will be struck off the hostel rolls if they fail to pay the Hostel Fee in time for two consecutive months.
  • Payment will be accepted only through Bank mentioned below.
  • Payments are to be made through Office of the College to the designated Account of IDBI Bank, Chandernagore Branch, Fatakgora.
Timing rules
  • Boarders must not remain outside the Hostel after 6.30 p.m. under any circumstances. Closing time of Hostel Gate is 6.30 p.m. in summer and 6.00 p.m. in winter.
  • Boarders are not permitted to take prolonged leave or remain absent from the Hostel for a considerable time when the regular classes are going on in the College. However, on medical grounds or in cases of other emergencies, all applications for leave should be submitted to the Principal/Convenor of the Hostel Committee. Leave of absence will be granted only on production of a medical certificate or a letter from the guardian stating the emergency necessitating the leave, as the case may be.
  • Two senior students of the College Hostel will be selected as Hostel Prefects who will co-ordinate with the College Authorities/ Convenor of the Hostel Committee.
  • Visitors (mentioned by Guardian previously) are allowed only during the specified visiting hours.
  • Guests or Guardians will not be allowed to stay after 6 p.m. or for meals.
  • Students may be allowed to go home at the end of the week.
  • Hostel will remain closed during Puja Vacation and Winter Recess or as notified by the College Administration.
  • Costly personal belongings should be kept under their own custody. In case of theft, the College Authority will not be held liable.
Miscellaneous rules
  • During illness, boarders will have to bear their own medical expenses. In case of emergency, the College Authority may arrange for hospitalisation, if possible with the prior permission from the guardian.
