Library
Hostel
General rules
  • Identity card will have to be shown at the time of entering the library.
  • Entry to the library will solely depend on the discretion of the college librarian.
  • Unauthorised persons/non- members of the library shall have no access to the library.
  • Every student who enters the Library shall sign the visitors’ register in accordance with the rules of the Library and in acknowledgment of his/her acceptance of those rules.
  • At the time of entering the library, no personal belongings, except purses and exercise book / paper, are permitted to betaken into the Library. It may be left on the shelf near the entrance to the library. The Library will not be liable for any loss/damage caused to the unclaimed deposits.
  • Without obtaining special permission from the College Librarian, nobody, except faculty members, shall enter the stack area.
  • Conversation, talking, sleeping,smoking, loitering & eating are not allowed within the library premises. Mobile phones are also not allowed within the library premises.
  • The readers shall maintain perfect order and silence within the Library premises.
  • No book will be re-issued more than once. Therefore, no book borrowed from the college library by a student shall be retained for a period of more than one month at a stretch.
  • In the Reading Room books will be issued only against the Identity card ofthe student.Books issued in the Reading Room cannot be taken outside the Library without permission of the librarian.
  • Books may be renewed on request at the discretion of the Librarian. The renewal will be done on the physical presentation of the books.
  • In case any book is lost or damaged by the members , the member shall be liable to replace the books with perfect copy.
  • At the time of borrowing a book, every member should examine it carefully and immediately bring to the notice of the staff at the issue place any mutilation or damage found in the book, otherwise the person to whom the book was last issuedwill be held responsible for any damage, defacement detected at the time of return.
  • The reference books, rare books, periodicals, reports and books of some special collections as well as career guidance books and books marked as “Not to be lent out” are not to be issued outside the library.
  • In case a book is in great demand, librarian may regulate the use of such a book in a manner as she considers proper.
  • Members shall return the book(s) at the end of the academic session positively.
  • Members will come to the library personally to take books on loan.
  • Before leaving the library, readers will be required to return all the documents borrowed by them for consultation in the reading library.
  • No admit card will be issued from the office without library Clearance.
Library Clearance rules
  • It is mandatory for every library member to collect his/her library clearance certificate from the library, at the end of his/her study/service. A member will obtain a clearance certificate from the Library after returning all the books issued , or in case of transfer as the case may be.
Loss of Library Book rules
  • Member held responsible for loss/damage/defacement or mutilation of library book shall be liable to compensate the library by replacing with a new copy i.e. current edition of the book lost, damaged etc. and if the book is not available in the market, he/she must pay to the library current price of original book.
Seminar Library rules
  • Only the Heads of the Departments can receive Books from the Central Library on behalf of their respective Seminar libraries and should take full responsibility of the books.
  • Issuing books from Seminar Library is the total responsibility of concerned HOD and he/she will responsible for issuing library clearance to permanent, part-time faculty members.
Computer/Internet Use rules
  • Use of Internet is a privilege granted for classroom related projects/study only.
  • The students will use it exclusively for educational/academic purpose under thesupervision of their departmental teachers/ permission from the Librarian.
  • The students will not be permitted to use E-mail (other than academic or career related purpose)
  • The students will not be permitted to play Online/ Offline games
  • The students will not be permitted to use Facebook or any social networking site
  • The students will not be permitted to install/ update/ download any kind of software without permission from College Librarian.
