Introduction
The journey of the Department of Mathematics at Chandernagore College (formerly known as Dupleix College) began in 1931 with the commencement of education in Mathematics at I. Sc. Standard under Calcutta University. Honours course in the subject Mathematics was offered from 1948. This department was further enriched by the knowledge and dedication of teachers like Prof. Dilip Kr. Bhattacharya, Prof. Nandadulal Chakraborty, Prof. Shyamsadhan Mukherjee, Prof. Pritendu Chowdhury, Prof. Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Prof. Panchanan Roy and many others whose names could not be cited in this short preface. At present the Department has 3 full time teachers
