ABOUT
The study centre C-05 of Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU) in Chandernagore College was started in 1999 with only 30
students. Over the years, this study centre has expanded and at present it caters to around 5000 students.
The NSOU, Chandernagore College has been a significant contributor in making education affordable to the economically
disadvantaged section of the society and it has been successful in its aim of empowering them through education.
It provides quality higher education in a flexible mode through distance learning.
The programs offered through this study centre, reflects a sustained dedication to critical, and interdisciplinary
approaches to the study of social identities and social phenomena. This study centre emphasizes on the cultivation
of critical skills in developing original and innovative thinking that provides students with a firm basis for success
in their academic careers.It imparts quality educations through ODL mode. For the ease of the students who are working
as well, the NSOU study centre in Chandernagore College operates over the weekends. At this study centre students can
enroll themselves for Bachelor Degree programmes as well as Post Graduate Courses (PG). For more information, visit official

PG Geography & PG Zoology courses have also been running autonomously from the Department of Geography
and Department of Zoology. Both the courses have 20 seats in each batch. Admission process is done centrally
online and classes are conducted on Sunday in the respective departments.
